FAQs About Music Lessons

We like to think that it’s pretty straightforward. But just in case, here’s a deeper dive into some frequently asked questions.

How do I find a music teacher?

Visit our Music Lessons page and choose an instrument, pursuit, or style to browse the artists offering lessons relevant to your topic, then pick the right artist (or artists) to help you reach your personal musical goals. You can also use the “Search, Sort & Filter” tool on any of the music lessons pages to limit the list of artists by:

  • Instrument, pursuit, style, or artist name
  • Skill level (beginner, intermediate, advanced)
  • Age group
  • Preferred lesson day

Once you find an artist you’re interested in taking lessons with, simply click through to learn more about them and their teaching style to see if they’re a good fit for your musical goals.

How much do music lessons cost?

Prices for music lessons vary, but they all tend to be around $30 for half-hour lessons and $60 for one-hour lessons. Each artist’s rates are posted on their Music Lessons product. From any music lessons page, click on an artist to see their lesson rates.

Do I have to take weekly music lessons?

Absolutely not. You can take lessons from whomever you want, as frequently as you’d like, whenever our artists are available.

How do I book a music lesson?

Each artist has an availability calendar posted directly on their Music Lessons product. Use the calendar to find a day and time that works for you, and book your next music lesson with them directly.

Can I book more than one music lesson at a time?

Of course! Add as many music lessons as you want to your cart, one at a time, from however many artists you want to take lessons with.

Where do the lessons take place?

Each artist’s Music Lessons product will tell you where they teach in the Buffalo area. The actual address of the lesson will not be shared until the lesson is booked. You can feel free to email the artist directly if you have any questions or concerns.

How does the actual music lesson work?

For each lesson you book, you submit the student’s name and an email address for coordination with the artist. You can also add a message to the artist about what the student wants to learn, or even specifically what they want to work on during the lesson. For each lesson you book, the artist will reach out to you via email to coordinate, including:

  • A calendar event for each lesson
  • The address for in-person lessons
  • Any follow-up questions or information they may have for the student

What platform do the artists use for virtual music lessons?

The virtual platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) vary from artist to artist, but all are FREE and can be discussed with the artist prior to the lesson if there are any preferences or technical issues.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule a music lesson?

Read our Cancellation & Refund Policy to learn more.

Can I learn more about each artist?

You can also visit each artist’s profile to learn more about them, including their bio, pro music credentials, primary influences, audio and video clips of them playing, and what other services they are offering through the Club. You can find a link to each artists’s profile in the “About the Artist” section on each Music Lessons product, or you can visit Our Artists page.
