Declan Miers - Artist - Buffalo Music Club

Professional Bassist & Guitarist
Bassist for SZA, Mac Ayres, & Others
Composer & Songwriter

Being born into a family of artists has its perks. DECLAN MIERS was naturally given the space to expound his emotional energy through a multitude of creative outlets, yet his outlet of choice has always been music. Ever since his mother carried him around with her from concert to concert, and his father gave him a guitar and a Rolling Stones concert DVD, he’s been hooked.

Miers took his passions for music and turned it into a way of life. He started gigging when he was only 8 years old, touring regionally when he was 14, and internationally by 18. He says that the bass became his way to interact with the world around him, breaking the barriers between nationality, creed, and culture, and an enlightening social education followed.

By age 16, Miers graduated from Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts, leaving early to pursue his dreams at Berklee College of Music with a merit-based full-tuition scholarship. Between going to school full-time and touring internationally with rising R&B vocalist Mac Ayres, Miers learned much about the music world, and by his 18th birthday, he decided to take time away from Berklee in order to focus on gathering real-world experience and start the treacherous journey of making a living as a musician.

Miers moved to Los Angeles and began co-writing and performing with many different artists, ranging from R&B up-and-comer Mac Ayres to GRAMMY® Award-winning producer duo Brasstracks; playing with young musician phenoms including guitarist Justus West (who has performed and recorded with many of the industry’s top artists) and multi-instrumentalist Julius Rodriguez; as well as becoming a studio musician called regularly by top producers in Los Angeles.
