Learn music with an award-winning vocalist and opera singer.

Elizabeth “Lizzy” Hayes teaches a variety of genres and styles using the same fundamental techniques, working with students to find their core sound, discuss what they want to say as an artist, and cultivate a collaborative environment to fine-tune each musician’s individual skills.

My Favorite Things to Teach

  • Instruments: Voice (all levels), Piano (beginners only)

  • Styles: Classical, Opera, Pop, Indie, Musical Theatre, Jazz

Ages & Skill Levels

  • I work best with students ages 14 and up, but will work with younger students under the right circumstances
  • Beginner, intermediate, and advanced voice students are welcome
  • Beginner piano students are welcome

Availability & Rates

  • All lessons are currently conducted virtually, as I am attending graduate school at Juilliard in the fall. (In-person lessons in NYC may be possible, to be determined.)
  • 30 minutes: $30
  • 60 minutes: $60

ELIZABETH HAYES is an vocalist and opera singer (mezzo-soprano). Pro music credentials include:

  • Bachelor of Music (Vocal Performance) from the University of Connecticut
  • Performed the role of Young Marie Curie in the world premiere of Marie Curie Learns To Swim with Hartford Opera Theater
  • Two-time first place winner of the Connecticut Chapter of NATS (Advanced Division)
  • Voice faculty and administrative team member at Parlando School of Musical Arts in Boulder, Colorado
  • Assistant director for Parlando musicals and productions
  • Director and founder of Pants Role Project: A Coming Into Queerness Tale

Her musical influences include Joyce DiDonato, Frederica Von Stade, Ella Fitzgerald, and Joni Mitchell.
