Master Classes with David Cloyd

From: $300.00

Host a master class with an award-winning indie singer/songwriter & recording artist (ECR Music Group, NYC), founder of Hook & Ladder Records, and co-founder of Buffalo Music Club.

All of our master classes run approximately 1 hour and feature an infotainment-style lecture (sometimes including audience participation), with opportunities for discussion and Q&A after. Each artist will coordinate with you to make sure that their content will resonate and connect with YOUR audience based on their interests, ages, and skill levels.

  • Our artists are ready to come to you where you plan to host the master class (within the Buffalo area)
  • Virtual master classes are sometimes possible if necessary (to be discussed with the artist)
  • Once a date is selected, the artist will coordinate a start time with you
  • We will also make sure that all of the necessary bases, like like audio/visual equipment, are covered (some of those bases may require additional fees, which will be discussed prior to confirming the booking)

Master Class Topics

David Cloyd’s realm of expertise includes the following broad musical topics:

  • Instruments: Acoustic Guitar, Piano, Keyboard & Synth, MIDI, Voice
  • Pursuits: Songwriting, Composition & Arranging, Music Theory, Performance, Recording & Audio Production, Scoring
  • Styles: Rock (Indie), Performing Arts (Classical), Folk & Country (Folk, Singer/Songwriter)

Available Master Classes

Here are some of David Cloyd’s favorite master classes that are currently prepared:

  • MUSIC & LYRICS 101. Explore songwriting—the inside, the outside, and the mystery in the middle. As a songwriter, it’s easy to become overwhelmed and get lost in the possibilities. During this master class, David shines some light on what’s hiding behind the “Music & Lyrics,” then draws a map to help you find your way out of those deep dark woods, including song forms, harmonic progressions, and separating “the song” from “the recording.” Includes live song analysis (can be based on attendee suggestions, even on the spot).
  • THE SONG PYRAMID. Discover how to tap into your three sources of inspiration through deep song analysis—the key to songwriting and a deeper understanding of YOUR creative self. Includes live song analysis (can be based on attendee suggestions decided prior to the master class).
